Hiya, and welcome to Your Best Self Today’s about page. Let me start by introducing myself!

I’m Frances, an expat currently living in Portugal. This past year has been a rollercoaster for me, and like a good rollercoaster, it was full of ups and downs – thankfully many more ups than actual downs.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and my perspective of life went through some major changes. The funny thing is, what seemed like the worst possible news I could get from my neurologist improved my life in ways I never thought possible.

How, you ask? Well, in the past 12 months I managed to quit smoking, lose 70 lbs and started to love life like crazy!

I decided to embark on a journey: becoming my best self, today. Now, this is an ongoing journey, one I don’t think will end anytime soon – and I don’t want it to. For the first time in what it feels like years, I’m finally awake. While still going through this quest, I decided I want to help other people feel the same way, and find the same inner peace. The process of improving yourself should cover all aspects of your life, which is why we have three sections on this blog: mind, body and soul.

I’m constantly going through books, podcasts and webinars that focus on personal development, and I hope I can share what I learn with you all. From motivational quotes and affirmations to videos and playlists, the goal is to gather all the resources we need and are easily available so we can all become the best possible version of ourselves, the one we have always dreamed of, TODAY!
